Right on. Off course we don't want just plain old ninja PJ's... There's gotta be some detail or certain design to it. One can always liven up a dull ninja suit with some flair.
Take for example Both versions of Hattori Hanzo
(Samurai Warriors and Samurai Showdown),
Kotaro
(Onimusha),
and Ryu Hayabusa
(DoA/Ninja Gaiden series)
... All modified significantly but still derived from the same old common baggy ninja PJ :3
I trust Anet can and will pull through for us....

ninja pajamas......
you do realize that, with us able to dye our armor, this game would end up looking like an American Ninja sequel, dont you?
do you want to play American Ninja????? HUH????? DO YOU?????????????
as for the whole "what would an assassin really wear?" thing, am i the only one who noticed that the male necros would be stabbing themselves in the ears if they ever raised their arms? enough talk about the shiny blades alerting their prey and such things. our only concern should be: does it look good and fit their style?
practicallity is not really a factor.

- Collector's armor
- 15k versions of those 4
- FoW version
- Maybe they get 6 new armors as well, only available in Tyria (Chapter 1 land so to speak)
- Possible 15k versions of those 6 new armors as well
So that's 7 or maybe even 19 armors we still haven't seen. Though I doubt they'll get 6 more armors as well, since they get "only" 75 skills (or more if ANet was holding back during the Event).
So even if there's no ninja suit yet between the 6 armors we haven't seen, we can always keep nagging until we get 6 added armors which look like a ninja's pyjama because of "balance issues"
After all, the other classes would have more choice between their armors which might seem unfair...
I'll sign for ninja pyjamas though, as long as there are some things noticable (belt with a few sheathed knife,...).

While choosing genders you see the base armor.

Not really... I just wanna play an assassin that looks like a ninja instead of a dominatrix. You do realize that, with assassins only having those current armors, this game would end up looking like a S&M convention, don't you?
People have different tastes, and I'm all for the keeping the current armor you all so love, but not everyone likes what you like as you can see. In fact in your statement it seems you're implying that most people who choose assassin will PREFER the ninja armor over the current stuff and run around looking like "American Ninja". You don't have confidence in more people choosing your kind of armor over the boring ninja pajama armor?
As for ninja armor being "unoriginal" I find that the KNIGHT is the most unoriginal, stereotypical theme, since its been used on MMORPGs time and time again, yet no one complains.... From my recollection, only FINAL FANTASY XI has the "ninja" profession... and its a SUB-CLASS profession deriving from the core profession "Theif/Rogue" which is basically like an assassin... So to disqualify a "ninja theme" in GW simply because its "unoriginal/stereotypical" is null... Might as well disqualify the Warrior and Ranger professions too....

I'm not talking about getting rid of a whole profession...I just want some originality with the Assassin armor. Of course Rangers & Warriors are in the game, I'm not asking for a removal of the Assassin...just some original thought when it comes to the armor.

I understand where you're coming from, and I do awknowledge the current assassin armor being kind of original for an assassin (though I admit its not my cup of tea)... but I'm sure there are a great many people that appreciate a more homely "classic" look as well, much like how the people who have warriors want to build a more classic KNIGHT look (i/e buying Knights/Platemail over Gladiator, or Ascalon, etc...) ... I believe that having a choice of what type of armor "theme" to wear would be a great move for Anet, since it caters to both the people who like the current armor, and the people who want a more ninja-styled attire....

I have a great idea for a type of assassin armor, or just an example of what it could be like, but I have no scanner, so I can't upload it, and I would have a pretty hard time describing it, lol.
So I guess this post is a little pointless. Except, since I was able to think of it, it is obviously possible to make a kindof half-ninja half-something else hybrid armor. Meh, maybe if anyone actually wants me to, I could try to desribe it.
-Edit- I'll try to make some use of this post, I agree with shinobi, they should make atleast 1-2 armors that are like Ninja armor, but different at the same time.

Haha, yea I meant to edit it when I first posted that, but I couldn't pull the images at work so I had to wait until i got home ;p Here's what might be a good image of a hybrid of the current armor w/ ninja armor that Rikimaru was talking about:
Hibana of Oboro from Nightshade (Kunoichi)
The legs look good, since they're not as skinny as the female assassin in GW so it looks kinda baggy... (she got some thunder thighs)

I was looking through the fan art and came across one of the ones by Shinobi of a female R/W, and realized that it would be cool as HELL if one of the assassin dagger types are Kunai, even though you couldn't throw them.

Finally! Someone gets it!
That aside, I'd like to point out what so many others have: ninjas are merely one culture's assassin. I would be very, very surprised if ANet didn't include at least one ninja-style armour (and I mean, real ninja-style, which =/= black pajamas btw...) in the game. Of course, keep in mind THERE WILL BE MORE THAN ONE KIND OF ASSASSIN ARMOUR. The Weekend Preview obviously didn't include every armour type, but that certainly does not mean there won't be more than one. Everyone will be able to outfit their assassin how they want.. Unless it's like necro armours, and they all look kinda bad, but that's another rant thread.

Uhm, I'm pretty sure that's Ritualist armor...Assassin had reduced Deep Wound, added energy and +15 against slashing...Ritualist got +10 HP on each piece of Shaman armor I think...

Wow, mr threadnecro, where'd you find this thing..?
But to answer your question: You can find Ancient Armor in the Bone Palace (Nightfall), Obsidian Armor in the Fissure of Woe and Vabbian Armor in the Kodash Bazaar (Nightfall -Vabbi).

I do agree that some of the assassin armors are too pointy, and would look much better without them (like Anicent for example) But some armors I find rather nice, like:
Elite Canthan for Males: It has lots of equipment (all the mini daggers) but none of them are pointing out too much, all but a few of the dagger handles.
Shing Jea: The closest thing we have to PJ assassin armor, I'd consider buying some and dying it black, real stealth look.
Vabbian: Apart from the arm and leg blades, I love the leatheriness of this armor.
Obsidian: Nothing too pointy, other than a few mini daggers, alot like the elite canthan really. Certainly one of the better FoW sets IMO.
I would be nice if someone could make some text mods that removed the spikes, I do remember seeing someone do that with Vabbi and Anicent, and looked rather good.

Got my Assassin and Ritulaist armour in wajjun bazarr from Voldo the exotic.
Assassins isnt bad but love the ritualist one.
still I always thought the point of an assassin is you don't look like an assassin.
They should be able to wear any armor or clothing and have it give the same benefits as their own.
never happen though
Maybe its just Canthans have a love of tradition and everybody must use the dress code.
